Video Notes
Alternate summary considered: Fawkes loves Hobbes forever and ever omg, and he reaches out, and like, Hobbes just ain't into that.
I tried to focus alot on their interaction with each other. A lot of what attracts me to a pairing is how they move around one another, what their body language says, and with Fawkes/Hobbes, they're constantly grabbing at each other or moving into each other's space. Fawkes is the most openly touchy 'hero' I've ever seen in action, but he's not like that with everyone. Hobbes gets most of that side of him.
I don't know if any of you have ever seen the Turin Brakes music video to this song, but it is a beautiful tribute to the movie My Own Private Idaho, a movie about a character with narcolepsy. He spends a lot of the movie passed out, actually. It's possibly my favorite movie ever in the history of any movie, so when I saw Turin Brake's tribute to it, my mind was blown. Then I heard this song again a year later and I immediately thought... Seth/Ryan, The OC baby. And then I watched an episode of The Invisible Man and I thought: what the hell were you thinking? I-Man! Fawkes/Hobbes! Perfection! So, uh, this is kind of my tribute to the tribute.
I should be given points or have points taken away for making an Invisible Man vid where the Darien never goes invisible (...if you don't count the title sequence...) WHAT IS THAT?
Of note, I had some nightmares while making this video. Not that the source is particularly frightening, but it IS stranger than my everyday life and seeing so much of it constantly messed with my dreams something fierce. I don't remember what the nightmares were about any longer, but they were somehow related to I-Man.
Um, what else? Oh, if you have any questions about why I chose a certain clip, why I did that there in that second, why I used those colors, feel free to ask. I love vid talk.
Now I'm not vidding ever again. Ever, ever, ever. Because it obsesses me and THEN it wipes me out. Okay, maybe just ONE more...
